Alaska's Kenai River Fishing

Photo taken by a fishing client of a Rainbow Trout in net on Kenai River, Alaska

Paradise is cruising leisurely down a picture perfect wide expanse of cold running water in our custom-made, flat-bottom Willie Boats. Gliding through water painted a vivid teal green from the glacier runoff that gives birth to the Kenai River. Starting at the southwestern shores of Skilak Lake, culminating at the 1/6th mile wide mouth pouring into Cook Inlet, all 82 miles of the Kenai River and its' mountain drainage tributaries are the birth and the death place of some of the largest King salmon Chinook, Red salmon Sockeye, Pink salmon Humpies, and Silver salmon Coho in the world. In addition to salmon the river is home to Rainbow Trout of trophy size just waiting for amateur and professional anglers alike. There is no way to describe the feeling the first time one of these monster salmon or trout takes a running hold of your lure and breaks water. Fish with confidence using Lamiglas Certified Pro Rods & high quality reels. Whether you plan to eat your catch or photograph and/or mount it for posterity, these fish are beauties, unsurpassed by any other of their kind.
Photo taken by a fishing guide of two fledgling and one mature Bald Eagles with sea gulls on the banks of the Kenai River, AlaskaShortly after the last great ice-age sheets receded off the Kenai Peninsula, the banks of the Kenai River have been home to people for the last 5000 years. Animals you may see in the river, possibly fishing themselves, and along its' banks are Brown and Black Bear, Moose, Beaver, Ermine, Otter, Caribou, Coyote, Loons, Ducks, Swans, Sea Gulls, and America's national symbol, the Bald Eagle, practically posing for you to take pictures. These, and many other current inhabitants have called the Kenai River Drainage Basin home for longer than the people.

Located on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula the Kenai River runs through the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, ending just up the coast from Captain Cook State Park. With the Chugach National Forest to the adjacent north, and Kenai Fjords National Park just to the southeast, to name the major attractions, the rugged natural beauty of the area must be experienced to be believed. That's just one of the fishing charter destinations available. For complete listings of all available packages visit our Day Fishing Charters & Multi-day Fishing Charters pages.
