Kenai River Map

Driving from Anchorage takes you along a beautiful stretch of the glacier turquoise-green colored Kenai River. Starting at Kenai Lake the head waters of the Kenai River traveling through an incredible water and ice carved canyon, surrounded by the towering peaks of the Kenai Mountain Range. Just past Cooper Landing where giant trophy Rainbow trout practically leap into your boat, is the mouth of the world famous Russian River, one of the spawning grounds the salmon return to on their journey home to complete the life-cycle. The highway continues on through the spectacular canyon before widening out as you hit the valley floor of the Kenai Peninsula and on to Soldotna, where you meet up with the river once again at the world class, world famous fishing hot zone. Take your time as there are lots of photographic vistas, wildlife, and places to eat.
